EJWK 2022 FAQ & MORE

EJWK FAMILY,

The 2022 Football season is here. We will be starting on Tuesday 19 July at Foster Field from 530-730 PM.
No equipment needed. Just cleats (if you have them or gym shoes) and a bottle of water with your name on it.

2022 SEASON FAQ

PRACTICE TIMES - For 3rd to 8th grade the schedule will be the same all season.
Tues, Wed, Thurs from 530-730 PM and Sat 8-10 AM.
Future Stars - K thru 2nd grades will have that same schedule in July and then in Aug will go to
Wed night from 530-730 PM and Sat 8-10 AM.
If you have practice conflicts let your coach know. We have many multi sport athletes and also church and
other obligations. Please, just keep us informed.
If we have changes to practice we will email you as far in advance as possible. We will do the same with weather or other emergencies.

PICTURE DAY - Will be at practice on Sat 27 Aug from 8-10 AM. No need for money or order forms it is all done digitally now.
All players will take an individual and team photo. Siblings can also take a photo together.

GAMES & SCHEDULE - Most games will be on Sundays and a few will be on Saturdays.
We will not have a schedule until around 20 Aug. The regular season is 9 games for 3rd to 8th grades
and playoffs would be a max of three more weeks. We should be don around early Nov with playoffs.
Future Stars play only in Evanston at ETHS or Foster Field at practice on Saturdays.

GRADE SHEETS - We will start grade sheets after Labor Day.
I will have more details about that later this month.

PARENTS MEETING(S) - I know many of you have lots of questions and concerns
and I want to get those answered before we put pads on in Aug. I will have the first meeting at practice on Wed 27 Jul
at 7 PM and hope to be done by the end of practice ( might go a few minutes past) this will be at the field (weather permitting).
The second will be on Zoom on Wed 3 Aug at 8 PM (link will be emailed).
Also, I will be at practice early on Tuesday around 5 PM and answer questions until we get started and after we get the players going to warm up. If you have concerns about registration or payments or anything, come talk to me and we will get it handled. We have ever turned a player away because of money.

OUR LEAGUE - Last season we joined the TCYFL. This is a much larger league and it has a variety of playing
levels. You can see the leagues website at http://tcyfl.net/. Last season we had teams at Varsity, JV, Middleweight and Featherweight.
Future Stars does not play in this league and is an instructional level.

OUR COACHES - All of our coaches must pass a background check and are USA Football certified and PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance) certified as well. We are a Heads-Up certified program for more than 10 years. We have an all volunteer staff no coaches or staff are paid. We are always looking for new coaches Female or Male. If you are interested let me or Coach McKinney (he is the head of Football Operations and in charge of the coaches) know. If you have an issue with a Coach talk to Coach McKinney first then if he will bring the issue to me if needed.

PLAYING TIME - All players who practice and turn in their grade sheets are guaranteed playing time. Usually one quarter (about 10 plays) or more. We will do our best to put your player in the best position to succeed. If you have questions about playing time and the positions they are playing talk to your coach. We ask that you do this before or after practice. During the game players and coaches can get very emotional and we ask you to let us coach the game and give us a few minutes after the game to collect ourselves. .

PARENTS & FAN CONDUCT - We want everyone to come and cheer loudly for the Jr. Wildkits. We want it to be positive. Yelling at refs, opposing players or parents and our staff will not be tolerated. Only players and certified coaches are allowed on the sidelines during games. Some of the places we play are not in stadiums and families are very close to the field. Please let us coach and refrain from talking to your players and do not go on the field for any reason.

MISC - If you have multiple households make sure we get an email so everyone can stay in the loop. also, if you have extended family you want to add just let us know.

-Scholarships can be requested by emailing or talking to Coach Himrod.

-We have a lot of volunteer opportunities for teens and adults. More info will be provided at parents meetings

-We have a few T-Shirts left from our Football Family Fun day. We will be selling them at practice for $15 until they run out. Most are youth sizes, but we have few large left. this was a great day and raised a lot of money and we had a lot of fun.

PICK-UP & DROP-OFF - We will start practice on time and finish on time. Please respect our time as we respect your time.
You can drop off and pick up your players on Simpson St., Dewey in Cul-de sac, Family Focus Parking lot, Foster St. Please do not use Ashland (East side of the Field) as the City has asked us not to use it.
We will not leave until all players are picked up or have walked home.
